Hey guys. I'll get in my car, start it up, drive around and everthing is perfectly normal. But, after I beat on it a couple times in a row, I can hear a rattling coming from underneath the car @ idle. The rattle goes away at around 1400rpm, but continues at higher rpms. I tried to see if the exhaust was rubbing, but didn't see anything. Could it be the converter? Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Ross

I had two loose converter bolts once. It would knock/rattle at idle. Never at speed though.

Mine did that once and it was one of the baffles inside one of the mufflers. My car would rattle at a certain RPM and resonance. You could check this by: first making sure the car/ motor is cold and by getting underneath and grabbing and shaking each muffler. always remember when you're under a car to have appropriate jack stands as well as floor jack support and eye protection. I can drive the car all day long without this rattling happening, but after I beat on the car once or twice the rattling starts. I'ts not the mufflers, and if it were the converter bolts, I'd think it would rattle all of the time.
