Julio, I have been running 23 on the boost with my caspers thumbwheel set at #4 which equals 20deg of timing and my gain on the alky set at about 3.5 and presets are as set by you and i have had no knock at all show up on my direct scan. The car is running flawless! Would it be safe to go up to #5 or #6 on my thumbwheel which will be as follows, #5= 22deg, and #6= 24deg. If so, what would you recommend to set gain at and would you also go into presets first also to be safe? I run my caspers chip on #2 for every day driving with alky off for fuel economy, I have a settup that works very well which consists of a line coming off my actuator going to a valve for adjusting my boost which in turn is hooked to a fuel solenoid that is opperated by a switch from inside the car, With switch on, the fuel solenoid bleeds off for higher boost levels. With switch off i can run stock settings on my thumbwheel with stock boost solenoid controlling boost, When needed, I turn on the alky, flip my switch, and push the thumbwheel to #4 and Presto!! I have 22 on the boost, Spraying alky, and 20deg of timing;) Easy as 1 2 3.

The alky kit is progressive. I would always leave it on. It also creates less wear and tear on controls from switching on/off/on/off.. and one less thing to worry about.

If your going to bump up the timing, i'd be running more gain than 3.5. I'd probably have you set that to 6.. and work on it from there. I dont have a lot of experience with the Caspers TW chip...altho I have played a lot with the MaxEffort TW chip.

I think most reading this would say .. if its running good.. leave it alone ;)

hey thanks again julio my car is running great thanks to you and eric this chip, kit combo is kick as$!!!!!

Thank's for the reply Julio, I think the smart thing to do would be the last line you wrote;) Think i'll leave it alone, I have seen where others have been mentioned running a little higher timing and thought if it wasn't too dangerous i would try it a couple degrees higher. Along with age comes wisdom, and along with experience comes wisdom also;) I'll leave it alone to save a lot of back breaking wrenching bent over a fender:smile:
