I have the LED's mounted in a box. Do I need the Power Injection Bulb?
I will have low alchy & the red-green led for pump so why would I still need the power Injection bulb?
Thanks!!

Not sure why it would be "needed", but for what its worth, I dont have the power injection bulb hooked up on mine either and have had no problems at all with the alky kit.

Hope this helps....

Bill

I have a custom scanmaster box with labels & that bulb wont fit unless I turn it into an LED & just not sure i need it??
I cant see it hurting the system?

bulb

It won't hurt anything. The bulb is strictly to beautify the application & utilize the existing power injection slot. Being that it's progressive it makes it that much more nice to see while you're going to 30psi on pump gas. The bulb just lights up when the controller activates the pump. It has no other job than to let you see the progressive power injection increasing. The more boost the brighter it gets. Call Julio and he will come up with something for you to install an alternative LED/Bulb to fit in that little extra scanmaster box I'm sure!

Thats exactly what I need is an LED to put in the empty scanmaster. Even non progressive would be fine. Would Radio Shack etc sell them for cars? Thanks!
PS: I actually need 2 of them. ;)

Radio shack does but you would need to install a drop resistor because straight 12 volts will make the smoke come out of the LED. The stuff they sell as far as electronics these days is few and far between. If you are trying local see if there is a small mom and pop electronics place close by and visit them. I would recommend you call Julio though.

I will call julio but didnt want to bother him if I could solve with some help here.
I'm sure he will see this & if not I'll call next week.

Another question? I believe the turn on LED goes from Red to Green? That is telling me the pump pressure is rising isn't it? Otherwise, whats the reason for the color change?

This is his domain & it doesn't bother him trust me. ;) but if you can find the LED's locally that are the correct size and proper for your application then by all means do it but if you come up short I'm sure he will have a solution that is cheap & simple. Good luck.

Yes the LED turns Red which indicates turn on of the pump has been reached. Then when it changes to green it indicates a minimum safe pump pressure has been reached. It is a nice way to know your pump is not only turning on but is pumping a safe amount of alcohol.

Hi Wess, talked to Jim last night from Baxley GA. He spoke highly of you and told me about his 402? or 406? can't remember; he's put on a few pounds since the last time I saw him. lol.

Yes Radio Shack around here too is dry on some parts, If you know exactly what you need as far as electronics go, Digi Key.com is a very good source if you don't mind saving gas money and pay a little for shipping. ;)

Edit: Yes definately call Razor for a simple part like that, or anything for his Alky kit as he knows it best. Don't know if the DK has a diode that turns from red to green and by the time you did find one Razor could have had you one in the mail.
But for resistors, basic diodes and other electronic needs DKs pretty quick also.

Yes, good ole country boy Jim. He's a character for sure. I've helped him out many of times and doesn't go out of his way to bone you like so many Buick guys do in the community. He just wants to enjoy his car without having to contact NASA for tech support every 5 minutes. He got married so I'm sure he's eating well. I haven't seen him since he last came to Tampa and that's been about 2 years ago.

There are a few places to get stuff from but still recommend him to call because it will be simple that way.

Don't worry about the lamp. I went with a GNX dash and he(Julio) told me it was only on the Buick alky kit, removal does not affect anything.

The only kit I make with a bulb is the Buick kit. So no it is not needed at all

The important one is the bi-colored led as it let's you know the pump IS working when it changes to green.

Out of town, call me next week and I'll help you anyway I can

OK its all hooked up & I crimped, soldiered & heat shrunk every connection as I always do.
The Low LED & Pump Red come on with key on & then the test LED with test button. Also I turned gain up to max & light turns green.
Low LED still comes on after I added a litre of water & tried about 5 times & its not spraying at all??
Any ideas?? Seems that it works as it should but no spray after 5 tries of 3 sec test hits??
Maybe its not primed yet?? I dont want to burn out the pump if its dry.

Take hose off of nozzle, place into container. Water bottle is easiest.
Turn IGN "on"
Place gain(blue knob) on position 8
Push and hold test button until liquid flows.
Re-hook up hose to nozzle.. bring gain down to 6..
Proceed to beat on car.

Thanks Razor, I'll bet it just needs to be primed & will let you know in a few days how it goes.
Cheers!
