Went to the track last Sunday, ran a best ever 13.36 @ 101 mph. Anyone have any idea's what else I can add to get into the 12's (see signature)? My laptop died after my first run but I was running C-116 w/ 19lbs of boost, <2 of knock and all other readings looked within spec's. I did go to a colder plug 42's and was running MT streets, my 60ft times were 1.85 to 1.95. I have done all the spring cleaning tips and have a mechanic who has been helping with getting things running right, but he has limited knowledge of these cars also.

More timing via race chip? That's if you already weren't were using one.(sig says Thrasher92)

I was using the Thrasher 92. I don't have any experience with chips in general much less a race chip, but since this isn't a daily driver and I will be running race gas at the track, any suggestions on a good race chip?

Lose the power plate (J/K)...

TURN UP THE BOOST!!!

By the way, you're running C16, not C-116. C16 is 117 motor octane, not to be confused with 116 anything.

Try running 22-23 PSI...

The 42s and C16 with 19 psi is probably burning too cold and not heating up the turbine. To get 2 degrees of knock makes me think it's false. I ran 25psi and C16 with FP @ 39 and got 0.7KR on a shift last time out. Strikeeagle is right, you should have room to turn it up. Good short times, looks like it's laying down shortly thereafter. And keep it in 3rd.

A good race chip....I use Testa. I'm sure just about anyone you feel comfortable with would be ok.

I do agree that it is probably false knock, I had some trouble with the DP tapping the bottom of the firewall, which was corrected last night. My mechanic suggested the 42's but I think he was concerned about knock, our last trip to the track I was running Sunoco 94, stock chip and 16lbs of boost. He didn't want to break anything with the trasher and 19lbs of boost. The race gas was a last minute thing, we never know if the track will have the pumps open or how long. Why lose the powerplate?? I read that alot of people swear by them.

I agree, turn up the boost. I can run 20lbs on just 20% Xylene mix with little or no knock. You should easily beat that all day with the race gas.

More timing & more boost!!! Your short times are decent. Stock setups will respond to more timing as opposed to more boost. You will run quicker with 20 lbs of boost with as much timing as possible, than you will with 22 - 23 lbs of boost with less timing.
In your case, with race gas, you should be able to get away with more of both!
No recommendation from me regarding chips. As you can see from my sig. I'm waaay out of fashion in that area. But my times don't lie. ( switch to CR- 43's)

p.s. My experience is that the stock turbo becomes pretty in-effecient above 21 lbs. of boost.

In the cooler weather you may get away with a bit more boost on even a stock turbo...

24 to 26 degrees of timing works well with race gas. If your chip has less timing it will not make good use of the octane.

Careful with street chips, depending upon your chip maker's thought process, they may not supply enough fuel for your strip blasts (read too low an injector duty cycle)...

As others have said, with stock turbo run lots of timing and race gas. With my stock turbo and engine I have been running 30* of timing at 22 to 23 psig boost. This is a variable timing chip by Jay Carter. Under normal driving timing starts at 40*.

Have Fun

Thanks for the help...this definitely gives me some area's to pursue. I guess it's time for another chip no need to waste anymore c16 on a thrasher92.
