Sean Sparacio (aka QUICKWRENCH on the TurboBuick.com Website) of Carolina Pit Stop in Greenville, South Carolina has refused to deliver over $600 worth of parts I purchased from him on 10/05/05.

On 10/03/05, Sean (QUICKWRENCH) Sparacio posted "20k Mile Show Quality Engine For Sale" in the "Parts For Sale" Forum http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1167899 . As you can see in his listing, he states, "EVERYTHING in the pictures is included" except the engine stand to which the engine is bolted. I phoned him, agreed to purchase the engine, and then paid him in full on 10/05/05 by electronic funds transfer because he insisted he needed the funds in his bank account no later than 10/07/05 for business expenses.

On 11/06/05, I drove over 800 miles to pick up the engine. When I got to where the engine was being stored, Sean (QUICKWRENCH) Sparacio told me the coilpak/ignition module (with its mounting brackets) and the THDP were locked in the trunk of the car. He then stated that he had mistakenly left the keys to the car at his home (over an hour away). He apologized and assured me that he would ship the aforementioned parts to me the following week by UPS. As of yet, HE HAS NOT DONE THIS!!!

My last phone conversation with Sean (QUICKWRENCH) Sparacio was on 11/22/05. He stated that he shipped the parts by UPS and that he would phone me later that evening to give me the tracking numbers. HE NEVER PHONED AND SINCE THEN NO LONGER ANSWERS HIS PHONE (he has caller ID) OR REPLIES TO ANY OF THE NUMEROUS EMAILS I HAVE SENT TO HIM. I have spoken with our UPS delivery man and he has informed me that he has had no packages for us.

Apparently, Sean (QUICKWRENCH) Sparacio has the audacity to think he can defraud honest people without consequence. In this, he is mistaken. I have contacted the Greenville, SC Police Department and the SC State Attorney General's Office regarding this matter. They are very interested in the business practices of Mr. Sean (QUICKWRENCH) Sparacio. His fraudulent conduct is subject to both criminal and civil penalties.

In conclusion ............. I have been very patient with Sean (QUICKWRENCH) Sparacio and have given him every opportunity to do the right thing. Thus far, he has refused to do what is right and ship to me the parts I paid for. My patience has now expired. I have proof of everything and will be filing a formal complaint on Monday (12/12/05) unless I hear from Sean (QUICKWRENCH) Sparacio in writing (reply to this post or email).

I regret having to make this post, but owe it to all the honest members of this board.

Quickwrench Not So Quick

Thanks to each of you that have responded with words of encouragement and support. I wish I could report that Sean (QUICKWRENCH) Sparacio has elected to do the right thing and ship me my parts, but as of yet, HE HAS NOT. I'll continue to update you on this matter.

the law will basically do nothing, trust me. been there done that.

************EDIT*************

" PHANTASM , we DO NOT allow that type of advice here. Please re-read the forum and site rules again.

Thank you
Jesse"

QUICKWRENCH not quick

Still no response from SEAN (QUICKWRENCH) SPARACIO of Carolina Pit Stop in Greenville, SC.

That stinks. Guess the drive out to get the keys would have been worth your time. Hope you get the parts you paid for.

Sean "QUICKWRENCH" Sparacio

Yeah .......... you're right. Another two hours of driving wouldn't have been anything compared to driving over 800 miles (1600 miles round trip) to get there. The sad fact, however, is that I trusted SEAN "QUICKWRENCH" SPARACIO to honor his word ............. and that is a big mistake. To all that read this ......... don't make the same mistake I did and trust SEAN "QUICKWRENCH" SPARACIO of Carolina Pit Stop in Greenville, SC.
If he posts "that the sun rises in the east" ......... verify it first and don't pay him a penny until it does.

Not that this means anything at all, but Sean is from my area and I find this topic very surprising. I have had numerous e-mails recently asking me if I know anything about him or was in contact with him because he is from here, so rather than e-mailing I'll just post this here.

I haven't talked to Sean in about 3 or 4 years (?)

As far as what I see here, I do find a couple things odd. One is that he says he "has been building turbo Buicks for 10 years"....... the white 20k mile Limited he has now used to be my car, and as far as I know it's the only one he's ever owned. His best friend, James, has my old white T that I sold him as a roller in '97 and he and Sean put it together with other parts. That is the only turbo Regal I know of him ever working on other than the Limited.

Second, the last I talked to Sean he was down south in technical school for "computer something or other"....... now all of a sudden he is building "blown alcohol Hemis for Pro Modified cars in excess of 2600HP" ? Nothing like that was ever mentioned when he lived here. Maybe so, but that's the sort of thing you would think takes years and years of experience to earn that position, so that one sort of puzzles me. If so, good for him, that sounds fun and I'd love to be doing that.

I am not standing up for Sean, nor am I trying to damage his credibility, but something just doesn't sound right here. I would never have thought Sean would be the kind to scam anyone, he just never gave that impression at all.

So in other words, I know nothing about Sean as of now, but would think that he would make things right based on what I knew of him............ but who knows.......

Sean "QUICKWRENCH" Sparacio

Tim,
Thanks for your input. You say that you "would never have thought Sean would be the kind to scam anyone". I agree ......... had I had any inclination that he was a crook and a scammer, I would not have agreed to let him ship to me the parts he owed me .......... instead, I would have insisted that he either get the parts at that moment or refund the appropriate amount of their value. I fully expected Sean to honor his word and ship to me my parts. My suspicions grew when, after 2 weeks, I never received the parts or any correspondence from Sean with the tracking info he said he would immediatly supply. Then when he no longer would answer his phone or reply to the voice mail messages I left and emails I sent, my suspicions were confirmed ............. he had no intention of shipping the parts. Furthermore, you will notice that he has not responded to this thread either. But that's no surprise ........... what do you say when you know that you have blatantly ripped-off someone that has "gone the extra mile" to accommodate you?

Wow..you Guys Are Great Trackers, who Would Of Thought To Look For Him In At That Site..all I Can Say Is Wow.

I haven't so much as glanced at this site since Q4 of last year, and now I remember why. I'm doing my best to remain calm after running across this, but Bruce, you'd damn sure better get your facts straight.

You will never, EVER come across an individual whom I have dealt with (Buick-related or other) who has had a negative buying or selling experience with me. Anyone want more details on this engine sale? Call me personally at (864) 610-8026, or by email. I'm not going to re-hash the entire thing online; I don't have the time or patience. And frankly, there's really nothing to discuss. Nor am I going to start monitoring this thread and responding. I'll highlight the major points, though:

- Advertised the motor, and had a TREMENDOUS response. Bruce was ready to buy, had the funds, and begged for first dibs to replace his knocking motor. No problem.

- The advertised $2850 was a firm and OVERLY fair price. I was clear with everyone about this, but I agreed to knock the price down some, after repeatedly listening to his moaning about his current engine troubles. No big deal, but I made it clear that in exchange for the reduced price, the parts that I had taken off (the THDP and coil pack) were going to stay. The price difference was only a couple of hundred dollars or so (don't remember exactly), but this was CLEAR, and the only reason I agreed to a reduced price. Bruce clearly stated that this was no problem, since he could just use the ones he had from his existing engine. No problem.

I don't spend very much time with the Buick scene these days, but since when is a six year old MILD STEEL THDP and OE 1987 coil pack suddenly worth "over $600"?

- When Bruce arrived at the race shop in NC, he expressed immediate interest in the fresh Jim Campbell-built transmission that I had for the car, which we transacted without incident, on top of the engine deal. No problem.

- No, I didn't have the Buick's keys to open the trunk when I arrived. Why? I didn't need them. They weren't part of the deal. When Bruce decided that he did, in fact, want them, I explained that I could come back to the shop in a week or so and get them so I could send them up.

- I went to great lengths to make sure that the engine would make it back to Bruce's place in Michigan without any damage, including plastic wrapping the engine, and supplying him with ratchet straps to tie the engine down to the truck bed for the ride. No problem there, either. My pleasure.

I honestly think that Bruce is confused, or doesn't remember the specifics of the deal. For the difference in the advertised price in the original TB.com ad and what he paid, I would have sent the downpipe and coil. I even agreed to split the freight. I never received dime one, so nothing got shipped. Pretty simple.

I'm assuming that the engine runs well? That the transmission performs as expected? I haven't seen one word related to how the engine runs, looks, or how the transmission performs, so I'm assuming no news is good news on that front.

Aha- the other side of the story!

Time to getthepopcorn, and see how this plays out....

Nice engine, btw...

OK, that's just stupid. If you're going to call someone out, DO IT. Don't say "that

Remember the GN I bought from Mark Bagwell in 1995 when we all worked at Summit Racing together? That, plus the '87 T I bought from you, plus your ex-car (James's), plus the DOZENS of others that came in and out of my garage in Ravenna more than entitles me to claim a hefty knowledge of Buick tech.

As for my Pro Mod experience, come to the World Nationals in Norwalk in a few months. We'll be up there, and I'll give you a first-hand tour. Does it take years of ball-busting effort? Hell yes...4th season, and counting. Want references? Pictures? Video? No problem. Don't even go there.

One more thing...Stop resting on the laurels of one banzai Buick pass you made 10 years ago. It doesn't entitle you to anything, so stop riding that gravy train and mind your own business.

Sean,

I think you'd better read my posts again before you start going off and talking sh*t toward me.

First, I was replying to the multiple e-mails I recieved from people asking if I was still in contact with you because we are from the same area. All I did was answer the questions as I saw it, nothing else.

If you read it, I had good things to say about you and actually defended your name more than once.............. so a personal attack toward me is totally uncalled for here.

And ".........Stop resting on the laurels of one banzai Buick pass you made 10 years ago......"? WTF is that all about? Do you see ANYTHING at all in my posts that has anything to do with 10 years ago? Totally uncalled for, again............
