Rear bench seat question

Does anyone know if the back bench seat is supposed to be sucured to something or can you just reach behind it and pull it up? On my gn I'm able to grab between the bench seat and the seat back and pull it up.

The bottom hooks onto hooks on the floor. The back hooks onto hooks behind it, and then is bolted in with the outer seatbelt retractors.
