So, what kind of socket did you use to get that thing loose? My sockets are too thick walled and I cant get them to fit in the hole...which also renders wrenches worthless.

The obvious answer you know is a thin wall socket. ;)

I use a Sears long 1/4" drive one.

Use lots of PB Blaster on those things first.

Just had to replace a rusty cylinder because of a stuck bleeder, was worth it though as the thing was pretty much rotted away.

Once loose I just run the clear hose down the socket and use a vise grips to open and close it for bleeding.

Mechanics and shops have special wrenches and sockets that seem to fit it well enough, specific brake tools.

I know the answer was obvious, I was jsut making sure that you didnt need some super-special-GM-tech-exclusive socket :D
