Do you have C-clip elim on the back? Also what was the biggest Baer Brakes you can put on the front Gnx or front GTA rims.I have the template from Bear but my car is put away for the winter.I was wanting to buy this for this winter and install this spring.
Thanks
Mike

Big Mike,
I do not have c-clip eliminator. I do have the PowerTrax locking differential which may not permit me to go to c-clip eliminator. Good question. I need to check with Summit to see if the two are mutually exclusive.

I have been told that the 13" Baer front disk will not fit the 16" GTA wheels. I haven't tried myself. Send me the template and I will check and return it to you. I would like to know for sure.

About the rear, I don't know of anyone making a bigger rear brake than the Baer Touring so I have never checked. I will look tonight to see if there is room for improvement.

Keep warm up there. We have had ice-covered roads here in North Carolina since lunch on Sunday. What fun!

alphaenvirmgt,

How did you like the upgrade to Baer brakes? I was thinking of doing the same but was second guessing the GTA wheels working with their setup. I only want to do the front brakes.

Dannyo,
I have the b-car front (12") disk on front and Baer Touring (11.75") on rear. I am very happy with brakes. My first and only trip to drag strip was several months ago (1/8 mile) resulted in 80mph stops and made 1st turn-off road no problem. BTW, I converted to vacuum brakes (Master cylinder and vacuum booster from 87 normally aspired V8 Regal) and had NO problem going from full boost (no vacuum) to "on the brakes hard".

The rear Baer kit went together with no problem. Hardest part was making 2 brake lines to go from "T" on the axle to the 2 calipers. Baer should have included those lines but do not. The double flare can be tricky...My advice is to buy the best flare tool you can find and should be ok.

I understand that the Baer front brakes requires you to send them your spindle and they modify it for the brakes. They can accomodate dropped G-body spindles, B-car spindles, stock g-body spindles. I have been told that the 13" Baer brakes will not fit the 16" GTA wheels. I cannot confirm or deny. Maybe someone who has will join in.

info

Sounds good, but I didn't state the question properly. I know we can run 4 GTA "FRONT" wheels.
My question is whether or not we can used the GTA "REAR" wheels if we have rear discs.

Thanks alot guys,

Ravi

p.s. Mike--Group purchase??

I have 4 front GTA wheels on my gn. They fit perfect. You do not even require spacers. I have 245-50-16 in the front and 255-50-16 in the rear just as the beautiful GNX. They work great and look good. I know that if you use rear GTA wheels, you will need spacers. Personally, i would get 4 fronts. Much easier and you dont have to change wheel studs.
Let me know!!:D

Mike

So, the question is....can we run GTA rear wheels on the rear of a TR if we also have rear disc brakes. I strongly suspect the answer is no but will try it first chance I get.
Conrad

Thanks Conrad
Rick at Baer sent me a catalog with prices and the different brake setup stuff. The template is just paper that you cut out which you can Get off their web site.I can scan or fax or mail them if you want.
Thanks
Mike

Yes, U can use GTA rims with disk Brakes on the back. I have the 11.5 baer touring package on the back of my car.

Now the fronts with Baer brakes, U can go no biggier then 12inch
unless u go to a 17in rim then u can go 13s. I have the 12inch sport touring up front slotted, cross drilled and zinc plated and they are Sweet. I do agree with the Back brake setup is alittle jerry rig. I'd like to have complete braided line to the tee.
