How to remove the cover I don’t remember how I got the other side off

I think there's a plug to give access to the adjusting wheel. You may have to adjust it out quite a bit if the shoes have worn in to the drum
 
I got it by beating the shit out of it. The pads were so with the they stuck to the drum itself
 
Update. Got everything off and a day off from work to work on it a bit and was installing the wheel cylinder because they look like a@@ also. I noticed the front of the hole that the cylinder goes into is bent a bit. Possibly I can just hammer it back down straight or would it be best to get a whole new backing plate? Shouldn’t that area be completely straight and flat? I’m sure I could use an extension and a hammer to straighten it out
