REAR END interchangability

would any posi units out of GM trucks ( S10 or blazer's ) be the same as the 8.5 buick posi that comes in a GN?

The GN uses 28 spline axles. Somewhere around 1989-1990 GM went to 30 spline axles so you can do this by using an 88 and older 3-series carrier. S-10's used the smaller 7.5 but the C/K series 1/2 ton trucks used the 8.5. Also look under B-bodies(Caprice-Impala), 81 and older Camaro-Firebird and G-10 & G-20 Vans with 10-bolt covers.

Thanks on the truck rear end info. I see lots of the C-10's selling for parts in my local want ads.. Maybe pickup my posi in one of those.
