Clock the seal to cause a solid piece of seal where the cap joins the block?

I plan to fill the sides about 25% with Ultra Black and then using rubber bars and steel pin - I believe I've read that some say to fill the sides only with Ultra Black???

Thanks,
Steve

I c-ock it off (sounds dirty) about a quarter inch. I use ultra gray....I think it's permatex, but I don't use the rubber plugs. Never had a problem. ;)

Lee, your post could be interpreted as dirty too!!! :)

I have not had a problem doing it the normal way (had to keep up the theme in this thread) but it does look like it would be a more solid seal if it were clocked.

It sounds like the page linked to recommends sealer on the mating surface between the cap and block!?!?!?
