Just wondering which I should use. I bought the neoprene one. The instructions say if it doesn't work use rope. I don't like doing things twice.Tried to do a search, website not responding.

there's a reason why GM went to the neoprene over the rope seals..leaks,leaks,leaks.............

Thanks for the replies. Big Daddy did you go to the Night of Fire. Not one TR there, I was bummed. :frown:

No, I didn't go....I've seen them before and 20$ a head to get in was a little steep so I stayed home and watched the Busch race.....some guys here at work said they had a helluva crowd tho...........the guys that raced bracket 1 were pissed, the jet powered rides oiled the track down and Roger (track owner) wouldn't clean the track. After a couple of close calls with the wall, the racers refused to go down the track, so Roger called it off and split the money among 18 or 20 people.....and that happened at 1:30am..2nd round

Beer and crowded parking lots don't mix. There was a stampede after the jets were done. Some guy with a blown T/A was trying to get out in line, he had a buddy standing blocking traffic. This lady shoves him out of the way with her car. Of course she was from Dunkirk. :(

IMO, the best seals (front OR rear) for these motors are the ones sold by the GSCA. The Fel-Pros aren't so hot, in my experience. They'll take a little longer to get, but they seal up tight.

rip off

ALL neophrene rear seals are manufactured by the same company (same seal no matter what box they are labeled) I can buy the same rear seal from the same supplier that the CLUB buys from for $3.50 per rear seal.Have to buy in volume (20 or 30 sets , don/t remember the exact # ) Felpro is the exact same rear seal.
BTW, Kirban sells a front seal for $12. Buy a front timing cover gasket from Felpro for $10--get the seal and assorted gasket. I understand vendors have to make a profit, but.
