I just installed a Moser 9 inch Ford rear end. The upper control arm mounting wings seem to be a little taller than the stock rear end. This causes the rear end to hang down a little lower when rhe car is put on a chassis hoist with the suspension at full drop.
What happens now is the rear springs drop out of their upper spring seats and dislocate. When I let the car back down on the ground the springs are not seated in the frame saddle correctly.

Looks like I need springs about 1 inch taller in the non compressed state to fit snuggly between the axle perch and the frame saddle.

I've got a brand new set of springs so they aren't sagged.

Has anyone experienced this problem before ? and what did you do to solve it ?

Anybody got a website that will give me rear coil spring dimensions and spring rates ?

Any ideas or help on this would be very much appreciated !!

I've got a spacer that fits on the rear end where the springs go (1.5" spacer actually) and should fill in the gap to solve your problem. I'll let you borrow it so you can copy it if you want. Then I'll need it back.

Hey Ed,

That's a very generous offer. I'm OK with it but wouldn't you rather send me a pic of these spacers for me to duplicate ?

Interestingly enough, I had a set of spacers made up about 5 years ago and after I had my frame rails modified, I had no need for them and sold them to a board member. I can't remember his name right now, you're not him by chance are you ?
