Rearend strap

Whats up family. I was lookn at the rear brakes on my GN i bought and noticed a red strap by the rearend. What was that used for?

It was a factory option... You could get them in red, blue, and even stealth black.

looks like a limiter strap , car may have had short lowering springs and might have been put there to keep the keep the rear axle from hanging too low and springs unseat at top in when jacking car up on a lift.

I'll take a guess that it has springs that are too short and the strap limits travel when jumping airborne so the springs don't fall out?
