I am adding the basics to my stock 84 GN...could anyone give me a recommendation on BOTH brand name and where to buy for the following:
Fuel Pressure Gauge
Knock gauge (if thats what it is called)
Boost Gauge (for stock turbo)
Thanks, as I am new to most of this!

Just my thoughts-

Fuel Pressure gauge- Your local auto parts store. This is not needed until you replace the fuel pump, hot wire it and buy an adj. fuel pressure regulator.

Knock gauge- Made by Caspers Electronics and Poston is a reseller which is where I got mine. This is the most important add on.

Boost gauge- I got a VDO from Poston. The second most important mod. The factory built boost and tach gauges are worthless.

Brad

You get a boost gauge from most of the Buick vendors. They are also available from Summit or Jeg, but it is better to support the Buick vendors when possible.

about the knock gauge, do I need to buy a knock senor unit (summit states in the item description that no sending unit included). OR do I wire to something already on the engine? Thanks again for the info.

bryan c is correct it tapps into the existing harness that goes to the ecm the instructions tell you how to do it 100% sure you are good to go to istall it when you buy it

Thanks. One other question, when picking out a boost gauge should I get a vacuum and boost gauge? I thought the boost gauge does work off vacuum? Im a little confused...

Basically its up to you what you want and how much you are willing to spend, i have all autometer gauges in my car, the casper knock gauge looks almost like an autometer gauge, if that helps, as well as the boost gauge it has both, your knock gauge go to caspers electronics, good luck

I have a VDO boost gauge and it is tied into the vacuum hose coming out of the fuel pressure regulator. Works fine. Brad

does it matter which vaccum line I put the "T" into for the boost gauge? some say use the MAP sensor line??? I hate to sound like such a friggin amatuer but where the hell is it? 84 GN.

I am not sure which one it is, I used the line feeding the wastegate solenoid since it was already back by the firewall.
