Red line function on Powerlogger

TurboBob: What does the redline function on PowerLogger do?

I hope it works like the built-in knock sensor and makes a lot of noise when a specific point it is reached.

My car is waiting for a new alky pump so I can't test it to find out and I'd like to know.
