Hi,

I'm trying to figure out whether my tranny is shifting right or if it is governed. I'm fairly new to Buicks and have an 85 T-type. I've messed with the TV cable and find that when I set the 1-2 shift to 4300 or so, it goes well. However, I was told redline is typically much higher than that on turbo Buicks. But when I set it to shift at 5000 RPM, the car boggs down (i.e. stops gaining power) after the tach hits 4300. Is it governed? Or is there some other reason it might be bogging down? Or is it just supposed to shift at around 4300? Let me know what you guys think. Thanks!

The motor was rebuilt 2000 miles ago to stock specs. It has brand new valve springs.
