Do you people think that a refurbished turbo for $1100 is too much? Im in desperate need of a turbo, my 86GN is in the shop as of now, info will help a great lot to me. I really love this car and I would hate to sell it :frown: Should I or should I not purchase it? should I or should I not sell it?

P.S. I really need your help asap 911!!!

Yes!!
A new turbo should only be 700 dollar range.
You should be able to get yours rebulit for 400-500.
I would upgrade to a ta49 or te44.

keep it and fix
$1100 is way much for the average turbo
Id shop around the forums and pick up a used one from one of the members before anything

Check the vendors. Poston's has a stocker, much cheaper. And for less than $500, you can get a new center section, and use it with the old compressor and turbine housings, and elbow.

I'll practically hand deliver one for $1100..... ... but seriously...... If all you want is a stock replacement..... I have seen some of the reputable vendors selling center sections (what you probably need if your turbo is bad) for like $269+ shipping. YOu just reuse your compressor housing, turbine housing, and wastegate actuator. No big deal.

Buuuuttt .... my 2 cents..... don't bother with a stocker..... buy at least a TA49..... you will never regret it. It will still look bone stock.
