Parts Needed:

Black lower windshield trim (little rust or rust free)

Original chrome "Buick" Trunk lid emblem (any condition as long as it is not broken)

Please email me at cam69ss@yahoo.com

Thanks,
Dan

I've got some of both Dan. Buy the windshield trim & get the emblem free! Email me directly if I can help buddy. Thanks.

Trim Reusable?

I've got a mobile autoglass co. coming to replace my windshield. The guy said that the black trim around it is not reusable. Is this true? It's in perfect shape, and I'd prefer not to buy new trim if it is reusable.

Thanks....

P.S. I know this thread is two years old, but hey...

Terbro, the trim is reusable. You might wind up breaking some of the retainer clips taking it out. They actually sell a removal tool which might be good to get so you don't damage the actual trim trying to pry it off. Both the clips and removal tool can be bought off the "HELP" rack at a local auto parts store. Installation is easy, the trim just snaps into place. I hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply. 'Cept that was last June I posted that. I had an autoglass guy come out...no problems with the trim. Got a new windshield for...$140, I think it was. I love it. The old one was pitted, with 160K miles worth of use.

LOL, I did a search on "Buick" trunk emblem and this thread came up. I had no idea when the last post was. Enjoy your new windsheild. :p

Roger that. I've done the same thing in the past...

Actually, I don't have the car back yet. This is the second time I've bought the car back. I originally bought it in '99. Sold it Apr. '04 when I moved to France for 6 months. Just happen to spot the same guy selling another GN as I was making plans to return to the US. So I contacted him, and agreed to buy it back (for much less!). I owned it for a few months, but decided to sell it (even though I loved it) because I was buying a house in CO. So I sold it to a guy, but he ran into financial troubles, and listed it for sale in our local car club. So I bought it back again! I haven't seen it in 6 months, but it's shipping here to CO next week, so I'll have my baby come back to me yet again!

Geeze...it always comes home to me...I guess we were meant to be together.

That's a heck of a story. It sounds like you and your car were meant to be. I'm waiting for some warmer weather to get my project finished. I just had her painted and I'm in the process of putting it back together. I'll post pics here when it's done.

Hey Terbro what part of the Springs do you live in? I live in Manitou.

Alright! I thought I might be the only guy in the area with a Turbo Regal. I haven't seen one since I've been here.

I'm actually in North Fountain, off of exit 132.

Anybody else in the Springs have a TR?

Terry

No you are not the only guy in town with one. Between my dad and I we own three 85's, about two blocks from where we live I know a guy that owns an 87 T, there is an 84 GN floating around somewhere that my buddy sold, a blue 86 T-Type, I know another guy that owns an 86 and 87 GN, then theres an 85 GN with 87 drivetrain, theres a guy that owns an 87 GN and his father owns a Turbo Trans Am, and then there is one other Turbo Trans Am that I know about. I think that is all of the Turbo Regals I know about, but Im sure there is more. Hey this summer you should come up to Grocery Warehouse on Fri and Saturday nights to the car show. I go sometimes and so do some of the other guys with TR's, There are also lots of old muscle cars that turn out. It is held at the Grocery Warehouse at Powers and Constitution and starts at like 4 or 5 PM I think and I believe it will start back up in April.
