my buddy has a 1985 buick regal with a 2bbl carb engine code A he wants to put a 200r4 trans on that car would it work or do you need a grand national computer.

It should work fine as long as you have the same connector. The GN's use a 4 pin. Most are 3 pin. Be sure to verify which pins the ECM usues to control the TCC. I think they are the same but not sure. Chris or Bruce? The remaining pin would be a 3rd gear switch. The 4th pin on the GN connector is a 4th switch. Be sure to verify that the trans cooler is intact in the radiator and has not been bypassed.

anyone out there done this? I plan on buying a n/a regal for a driver and wouldn't mind an overdrive if its worth the effort.
