Anyone here been dealing with these TR's for as long as I have and used to get the ATR newsletter? I have all of mine from 1987 -1993. Back in the days before the internet that was really the only information that I had to learn what to do on these cars. These guys(ATR) set the standard in testing and tuning and research on what worked and didnt work. I read them now and I laugh because it would take about $5000 and a bigger block with nitrous to run in the mid 11's. Now you just need a little meth and some good tuning.

Anyway I just wanted to see who else used to read those newsletters. I can tell you this: I would have given up on these cars a long time ago if it wasnt for ATR giving me pointers on how to tune and make these cars run and STAY running. That was the real trick. Going from a small block chevy to something with a TPS? I remember thinking "What the hell is is a TPS?":D

Ya..........Those were the days. I use to change head gaskets like most people change oil. I think I WORE-OUT the threads on my orinal head bolt holes. I use to be an ATR distributor, also. Remember when they moved across country? They sent me a letter in the mail telling me they were moving. Two days prior, I had placed a big order. They "forgot" to mention that all thier inventory had already been placed in a railcar.

I have them, Kenne Bell's, Eastern Performance's, and who knows what else in a box here somewhere

I have one of their TR Binders that I now use to store my car show brag book. Plus a generous quantity of the newsletters in the back.

I have the same ones here in a box too, boy that was a while ago, can't believe I've owned this GN since 1991.

I have them all also plus those old Kirban newsletters and Turbo Buick newsletters. I still refer to them on occasion.

Yeah I forgot about those little Kirban books to. They had a few tidbits.

Anyone ever ran that ATR liquid IC they sold back in the day. It was like $24,987 dollars... Seriously I dont rember how much it was but it was WAAAAAY out of my price range back then. They had the right idea...cooling that air as much as possible. I had to scrape to buy race gas to go the track, couldnt get one of those.

I actually enjoyed Kirban's Grand News a lot better than the current emails. I gave them all away with my last GN sale. Damn I should have kept them....................... Dan, with the sale of all the 6 bangers where are you headed next:cool:

So since ATR is defunct would there be any copyright restrictions in scanning them

There is one running around on a stock block T Type with a FAST unit, 66 bb turbo and alky. Still works.

I ran one of ATR's liquid/air I/C's for years. I remember Phil telling me that "I could go "Cryrogenic" with it, MUCH better than air to air"!!! :D
