Ok, I usually don't post stuff like this but after spending an hour this morning reading about all the cars that are stolen and combining that with two home break-ins in my area....I thought I would share a product I purchased and like.

Motion Activated Remote Control Flood Lights - SK3192

That said...here is what I like about them:

1) operate on different frequencies or the same so you can control them all at once or separately. I have one set in the back of the house by the garage door and one in the front.

2) you can put the motion detector part AWAY from the light on the house. The normal motion light we use only comes on when you get pretty close to the house. Because the light and detector are the SAME unit...when the light attracts killer moths that fly around the light all night....it never shuts off.

I have one detector at the end of my driveway a good distance from the house. The outside lights now come on as soon as you pull into the driveway instead of when you are up at the house (i.e. already up to my cars). An added bonus is I can see better at night when I pull into the driveway :-)

Downside to these is because they are so far from the house...critters like deer and yotes walk past them. On more than one occasion I have been sitting in the living room and had the floods come on because of an animal.

I am not selling these so before anyone says it I do not make a penny off them. Just want to pass along a product I have installed and like. If you read this and purchase one and it blows up killing everyone around you I don't want to hear about it :-)

18 bucks online or you can get them at Lowes but they are 65 bucks there.

I will not mislead anyone they do have problems. If your power goes out they get confused and I have had to cycle power to the light portion to get them to go out. It seems if you are going to have an accidental activation they always come on when don't want them to but never fail to come on. I guess that is the better of two choices :-)
