Having an issue tuning my TTA.

Stock turbo with Razor's alchy kit, I have a MAFT and LT1 sensor.

I have the car running great in 1st and 2nd, gets about 22PSI, O2's are about .790, 20d timing after I rescaled the MAF tables and made some updates to the timing tables. No KR at all. Problem is when I hit 3rd gear, O2's sail to the .950's or higher, EGT plummets to like 900d and if it doesn't start stubling and loose all boost it looses all but like 8PSI.

Can I use mult vs load 3rd gear (locs 367-373) to take fuel out in just 3rd? Does anyone have the conversions for the values in those locations?

You may want to post this question in the COmputer Chips section. I've never had to mess with that table to accomplish my goals. Make sure that there's not some crazy values in the PE vs Time tables making the PE fueling raise super high vs. the time you are in PE.

Your alky should already be pumping hard long before you hit 3rd gear since boost should be all the way up then, but it sounds like maybe the alky is drownding it. Can you back the boost off and see if it still happens with lower boost, say 15# and no alky?

might want to make sure your not dropping a cylinder in 3rd

if your plug gap is too wide it can missfire when under heavy load like 3rd gear the weaker the coil pack and/or plug wires the more likely it will happen

Well, it only started doing it since I put the MAFT+ and LT1 MAF on, since I had to alter the MAF tables so severly to get the BLM's back in range I'm assuming I'm drowning it.

Maybe I should start with the stock MAF tables again and try leaning it out globally with the MAFT before I go into the chip? I left the fuel trim at 0 and dove straight into the MAF tables on this chip. I'll also look into the PE vs time tables and make sure something is not askew there.

Prolly need to replace my plugs, they're prolly half drowned by now. Never even thought of that. What gap would you recommend at around 22# of boost?

Thanks for the ideas guys

Alex, can I have *What locations* , please.
I can't find where your talking about.

I tune in 3rd, and 4th gear, where the loads are greatest. The low load gears will take car of themselves, plus the engine doesn't pull down there very long.

Is the MAF being maxed in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear? if so, changing the MAF tables up will not have much effect unless you really skewwed where 255 gpms hits, but then that would have nothing to do with your BLMs because they only control your cruise values and not WOT when it locks to 128..that is if your's locks at 128 in WOT.

This is from the stuff on GNTTYPE.org, loc suppost to be far left column. Second column the hex entry. 3rd column dec conversion. 4th entry meaning, 5th is the conversion (I did find it in this spreadsheet, whoever put it together did awsome job)

It was pegging it. Seems to be reading in the last 2 entried in MAF table 5. I have lowered these by almost 100gps (along with making changes in table 6 to kinda match) and still rich

Get a turbotweak chip, set your translator settings on zero at WOT, adjust them to get the BL's dialed in at idle.. in 10 minutes you'll be boosting mid 20"s no problem.

I like playing with my own chips too... but when your only a few bucks away from getting the fix and not possibly hurting the motor... its a kinda nobrainer.

The work Bailey has done with the Extender as well is to be also noted... on these cars get one of the above chips.. its a badabing.. done. That easy.

Wanna bet :D

Ditto. Pulling/adding fuel/timing is easy as pie with extender chip.
