Removing egr tower in intake ?

I have the heads/intake off for a little bit of porting/polishing.
My chip doesn't use the egr, so I was going to remove it.

Is it work getting rid of the egr tower in the intake, or just leave it be? I was going to use a blockoff plate on the outside.

I removed mine because it seemed like a good idea to do anything that gets more air into the front cyl's. I can't confirm that with flowbench data though.
