Removing fuel lines and question about new lines

The quick connect fittings swivel on the pump solid lines but the fittings themselves on the end of the hose themselves don't swivel and they are a pain to get facing the right direction since the entire hose has to be twisted which isn't easy to do with the lines run.

I found it a little easier after the lines were stretched out strait for a week to take the this out from being coiled for shipping but still a pain.

the rear fitting are quick disconnect which swivel by design maybe you had an older kit with AN fittings ?

I bought the RT fuel line kit and definitely wish i would have just built my own. The feed from the tank to the filter has a 150* fitting on it that doesn't fit our route correctly at all. Hate to do it but probably going to have to cut the lines and put different fittings on it.

I guess I’m just old and lazy, cause I order the pumps from Nick,had him ship it to Richard Clark. Drop my car off and said here it is just do it.

LOL that would be alot easier! Ive been taking all the old lines out this evening and will start plumbing stuff soon.

I got mine on but not using the stock routing and it was a PIA to say the least. First I ran the feed down the DS and even though I don't have the engine in the car yet i could tell the line was way too long so I ran it down the PS and it seems right. Both times a PIA. It helped that I uncoiled the lines and laid them out straight for a week.

I'll take some pics and post how i got that weird filter fitting in.

I'll see how things line up when I put the engine back in this week.

Just pulling the lines out is a pain in the A$$! From some pictures i saw of mikes car im going to route the feed up the drivers side Y to the rails regulator probably on the drivers fender well and then the return down the drivers side. Id like to see pictures if you have the 150* fitting on the line from the pump to the filter though.

Thanks for the pictures! I got all the old fuel lines pulled out last night and ready for the new fuel lines. I really HATE that 150* fitting.

I have the RT kit for the 340 which I use with a 430 & BAP. I removed all the stock fuel line brackets and ran both feed & return down the driver side. I have the big Fram fuel filter which mounts on an "L" bracket with holes drilled into a body gusset in front of the driver's rear seat. What a nighmare to package this filter. I think engineering principles were ignored. RT used a specific fitting on the feed line to the filter inlet. The fitting is shaped to fit between the frame rail and the floor metal. If you drill the bracket holes off position "slightly" the filter may not package. I was able to get mine to package by modifying the bracket and adding a short dog leg. I spent a lot of time packaging this mess (costing 3 to $400) and I'm still not satisfied with the package. Frankly I don't want a fuel filter dragging on the pavement. I followed the factory routing and the engine end came out very nice. I could only get a very non-definative picture using someone's finger as a scale for where to drill the holes. Once the bracket is reworked more the system will support easy fuel flow. Why the supplier (RT) could not supply a template is not clear. Body positions from car to car may be a reason, however that's no excuse for selling an almost non-installable package.
