I just picked up a set of 87 GN wheels. I want to repaint the black on them. A friend recommended acid etching primer and some bumper black. Just wondering what some you that have repainted your wheels used. Thanks in advance

I don't drive my car much, but when I repainted the black part on my wheels, I just cleaned, and degreased really well, and used high temp black paint from the local auto store.

It hasn't flaked off, and it looks stock. I also got new wheel centers and they really made the wheels look nice. It was kind of a pain to mask it all off, I did remove the wheels of course... :)

I'd be worried about the bumper paint sticking, especially over the etching primer. Max is right, clean and lightly sand and just use a good black spray, I used engine enamel on a set of Magnum road wheels on my old 'Cuda and it held up pretty well.
