Are there any tips or tricks for removing and installing the reverse oil (case to housing) seal? The ATSG says using a modified #4 extractor, exactly what do they mean by modified? It also says using the proper diameter steel rod to seat the new one in, I haven't looked yet, but a sbc pushrod wouldn't fit that would it?
*update*
Scratch getting it out, I just ran a 1/4 by 20 tap in it and popped it right out.
The stock pushrod is about .312" rounded end, or is a rod with a flat end what it's asking for? How about a brass drift about the same diameter or slightly larger than the outside of the seal?
How hard does this seal have to be seated??
