Are there any tips or tricks for removing and installing the reverse oil (case to housing) seal? The ATSG says using a modified #4 extractor, exactly what do they mean by modified? It also says using the proper diameter steel rod to seat the new one in, I haven't looked yet, but a sbc pushrod wouldn't fit that would it? :D

*update*
Scratch getting it out, I just ran a 1/4 by 20 tap in it and popped it right out. :D

The stock pushrod is about .312" rounded end, or is a rod with a flat end what it's asking for? How about a brass drift about the same diameter or slightly larger than the outside of the seal?

How hard does this seal have to be seated??

I use a small 1/4 in. drive socket that will go inside the cup, with a short extension. Vasiline the out side of cup and drive in until bottomed out. You can tell by the sound. With a light make sure the rubber is seated on the housing. Piece of cake.

Putting that seal back in should be on of the last things you do before putting the valve body back on, just in case you have to take everything apart again. LOL
