Replacing TE44

I'm looking at replacing my TE44 turbo with something that will hit much harder and broaden my powerband. Im looking at getting the GT6152E from Precision because I have heard good things about this turbo if matched with 60lb injectors and 3200 stall, which I already have. Does anyone have any other turbo sugestions. My goal is to make my car as fast as possible on the street at 20lbs boost. Also, will this turbo work with ATR external wastegate?

For 20lbs of boost stick with the 44. You will need to run the 61 at 25lbs+ to see much of a gain. Probably more like 27lbs.

What about the GT3255E Turbo. It is designed to replace the TE44.

You probably won't notice any difference. I have a GT3255 on my TTA. It spools good and makes good power. But on a stock motored car a 44/49 are tough to beat. I have seen a lot of cars switch from 44/49 to something bigger and sometimes ran slower. Plus you will need a new torque converter for a 61. If you had heads/cam, then the 61 would be well worth it.

So far I'm very happy with upgrading my 49 to a GT6131 from Limited Eng. I had it custom built using a stock Garret exhaust housing, cause I didn't want to hurt it's street duty.
