Retrieving Data from XFI internal logger

What are the steps to download the data to my laptop from the XFI internal logger? I need to know if I have to download before I turn the igntion off after a run. Can I turn the ignition off and back on before downloading?

You can retreive them before or after you turn the ignition off.

At what point do I lose my internal log? Do I just make sure I save it BEFORE I arm the internal logger for the next run?

You won't lose it unless:
1) you erase it
2) you overwrite it with another log
3) you record a log and kill the battery before powering the ignition down
