Rev limiter?

My car runs well. 1 problem though. When I try to kick it down into passing gear,(all the way to the floor) it acts like the rev limiter won't let it go. It just revs up and down until I let off a little,then it runs fine. Anyone have this experience? It doesn't miss or anything just revs up and down as long as I keep it to the floor.

I wouldnt spend too long at RPMs that high with these motors. But, to answer your question, sounds chip oriented.

At what rpm's is this happening? Sounds like your tcc is locking and unlocking. When most cars hit the rev limiter, it shuts off, thenback on again. Its not very smooth. On my car, it hit when my tranny started slipping, and it shuts the car off briefly. Almost like the ignition quit. Mine shuts off the fuel, not sure if they are all like that.

I was thinking chip or maybe ignition related but I don't have quite enough experience on the turbo v6 to really form a good opinion.
Actually, I can't get a good reading on the RPM's because when I kick it down at say 55mph,it should go into second which it does but then it just revs up and down, it acts like it wants to just fly but something is not letting it.
I don't think it is transmission related because the tranny shop told me about it as it happens when they road tested it. I told them of this when I dropped it off but I guess they forgot. Tranny has been gone through already and if the tcc was acting up they would catch that.
It is in the tranny shop for the usual problem. 1-2 and 2-3 gone soft. they are now pulling it again to put another pump in it because the line pressure is not quite what it should be after the build at WOT and they are not satisfied w/that.(Trans-go tech line recommendation).
I have also ruled out the fuel problem since it is full and pressure does increase w/ acceleration evry other way when I drive it.
I am stumped.

Anyone else ran into this before? I could use all the suggestions that you guys have.
