well just thought I would I post about one of the stupidest things a ricer has ever done, and it actually involves our cars
I was reading an article in TURBO magazine and came to this one section where a guy did a custom engine swap for his Celica with our engine
Im thinking "damn finally a smart ricer out there doing a smart swap, using a high potential engine with lots of torque and he will have it in a light car"
man I was dead wrong
into the article theres a quote from the guy that did the swap and he says something like " I knew from growing up the grand national has a very powerful engine, which I thought would be perfect for a swap into my 19XX celica(very old model)"
the guy pulls an engine from a GN, pulls the turbo off. He then installs a cam and takes the heads off and shaves them down for "higher compression"
he removes the intake and has a custom one made, along with 3 inch Y shaped chrome pipe that leads to two K&N filters from the throttle body
so basically he has a higher compression GN motor with no turbo and custom intake with a air intake on it.
I was so pissed when I saw it, I wanted to jump in the article and throw him off a building, what a freaking waste of an engine. He took the engine in the way wrong direction, what the hell does he have now like 140hp? I cant believe how stupid people are.
I guess once rice always rice.
