Alright I am at the same point as most GN people are when they have put on all the bolt-ons they can shovel under the hood. I CANT GET ANY DAMN TRACTION. So my pops says put Nittos on the stock rims because that is what everyone else is doing. But i am a kid making some what good $ right now and is willing to help the problems with the car. I am ready to call up and order 15*10 weld draglites for the rear and get some BF Goodrich Drag Radials and be done with the thing. But is it the right thing to do? I want to know what kind of tires are people who are serious about having a streetable GN that you could always take to the local strip and not worry about getting embarassed by an import because u cant get any traction. Also we just put on a new master cylinder since the last one had an O-ring leak and the car brakes like a son of a. Now when we went to better calipers and pads i noticed that if you really had to slam on the brakes the front tires turn into skis. If i am willing to put good rims and good tires on the back there is no use going fast and not being able to stop at the end of the run. So what kind of rating tire are people running to make sure that they get the grip they want for those emergency stops. I also always loved the fat/skinny look on car and want to do that to my own car. That size rims are people running for a strip/street car. I say thanks for all the reading you have to do and any comments you have to give me, best wishes on ur own kills!

If you want to be able to stop on the street, don't run the skinnies up front. They look great, but don't have enough meat to stop ya.

275/60 BFGDR's on stock T-type rims works pretty good. The taller tire will really help reduce wheelspin on the street. Nittos are better all around tires and will last longer than BFG's, but BFG's will give better overall traction. With the money you save not buying weld wheels, you can buy another pair.

No radial will stick like a slick on and unprepped track surface (like import nights at the drags) Still, BFGDR's will still stick better than ordinary radials and few imports (.1%) will be able to out 60ft them on the same unprepped track, once you get them working.

Just my experience at one track, but I am not impressed with the BFG drag radials. I haven't raced that much and it could be user error but despite my efforts I can't get any better traction on DR's then on street radials. They also suck on the street in rain which I know others have also said. I've heard good things about the Nittos and plan on trying a set.
