RIP Mr. Shelby,my fears with all the legends we have lost lately is their is nobody to fill their shoes.

63% of eighteen year olds now have their driver's license vs 80% just 20 years ago. Driving has been replaced by iPads and video games. I'm relatively young still and there are less car guys my age than there are older car guys I hang out with so I'm afraid the above may be spot on. Nelson Racing comes to mind though as a new breed of speed and a pioneer.

Those of us that understand who and what he was will be missing an icon, but those that have no clue will be at a loss for words since they don't have a clue. The old is replaced with the new but it will never replace what was. Hopefully he will be sitting beside the rest of the great inovators in automotive history. RIP Carrol and may you have peace where ever you are now.
