I tried to get an escrow service involved here which would have solved this issue but no one was interested.......

I got recently screwed by this kid in Natick,MA for 2 center caps for a set of 87 GN wheels. He said he would bring them to my job on Saturday a few weeks ago and, low and behold, it's been almost 3 weeks now. Tried calling him and texting him. Still no answer. The dumb part is I have his phone number and I know where he works and lives. I'm wondering if I should buy new OEM center caps or just go after this dummy. At least I didn't pay for the power master set up.

hello people; If it was me I'd try one more time to contact him and if there's still no answer I'd give him a visit. I don't know how much $$$ your talking about but you made a deal and he should do the right thing. You never know what could be happenin with the person but that's what I would do. On that note on another site there's a guy selling single malt scotch and another member made a deal to get it and he never did. It ended up the guy was in the hospital and the guys daughter was trying to fill any orders that was made.
good luck and I'd like to here what happens. Natick is like 30 minutes from me.

I have made numerous attempts to call him but after 2 rings it goes to voice mail. I've called using a private number and it ring almost none times. All text messages are ignored instantly. I don't know how much more I can be diplomatic about this but I will keep you guys updated

I had a bad deal on an 87 GN before I bought my current car. Didn't envolve any boards or groups. My uncle knew a guy that has a GN for sale that was supposedly in good shape with 60k on it. Went to look at it and it wasn't as good as we thought. Had rust in the quarters, the interior had some tears in the seats and cracked dash. Was told it was all original. It ran and drove fine. I was hesitant but the price was right so we made a deal and he said his wife had the title and would mail it to me. Two days later I get the title and it says 100k and not actual miles. Ran autocheck and mileage didn't add up. Looked through reciepts and it had over 100k on it and the engine had been swapped. Luckily I took a photo of the sign he had on it saying it was an original 60k car. Called him with my findings and he said not my problem. Contacted an lawyer and put a stop payment order on the check. Lawyer drew up a letter stating what we found and would be taking legal action. He called back with a change of heart and said to return the car but he would not refund my $500 deposit. Returned the car and he immediately put it up for sale with the same discription. Through word of mouth I warned people about him and to my knowledge the car never sold. Moral of the story, things are not always what they seem and do your homework before hand.

In today's world, and on this site, our tight knit community is usually only a click away from checking to see if someone is a good person or a scumbag. I've been burned only a few times in all the years I've been here. After I got burned, I searched that person and found that I had no one to blame but myself. The info was there. I'm guessing that most of the writing is on the wall if you're willing to do the search.

From what I've seen, This site does a very efficient job of lifting up the good guys, and exposing those that don't do what they claim.

This is one of the reasons TB.com has the integrity and respected it has. :)

"LSTTYPE" .....You said my post (#5) was dumb for saying that the name of the person should be listed
to warn anyone else who may have dealngs with them. You wouldn't think it's dumb if it was you who
was being warned! That's why we have feedback forum on here.
