I will be installing a 3" downpipe and want to go to a SS exhaust. I really like the the RJC 4" exhaust. Anyone heard it or seen it?

I too am looking for an exhaust system and saw the single 4" looks great anyone have any experience with it ? Also I need headers, good ones not the ones from China that have more weld buggers inside than a monkey with a cold and cost $ 150. Looking for the "BEST" headers and exhaust system I can buy,not cheap crap. Jim Maguire

nobody replied. I hot it yesterday and am putting it in today.

Nice. Well see how it fits.

Mario, I have the RJC 4" single shot in my garage. No engine yet. Let me know how it sounds. Graig

hello people: I'd give RJC a call for a sound clip. On there site they had a sound clip of one of there exhaust systems but not the single 4". I'd bet they would do one.

I got it in. It was a about 5 hours since I did a DP also. Of course I had to polish everything. I think the pipes should have been a little longer to have more overlap. I think I had to only use about 1/2 inch of overlap to get it sit correctly. Thank God the band clamps are super wide and strong. It isnt quiet. It is loud at idle. It is ok riding around town. I went around did a few bonzi runs to set the new DP with external WG and controller. It seemed to be not too loud at WOT and is noticeably faster with the 3" DP and 4" catback. I have a TH SS dump and it is a little oval shaped at flange so it made it harder to bolt the 4" also. I got a 3.5 inch adapter from RJC and I had to make some gaskets to get it to seal well. The pipes are beautiful and polished but the muffler isnt polished. Its all a tight fit. You have 1/2 between everything you can imagine. It takes a while to get it to fit without bumping something. I hear the turbo whistling almost like diesel with a 4". No doubt its a very nice piece. I am dead tired. Maybe some pics and video tomorrow.

I dont hink its bumping anything but Ill look again tomorrow. It might quiet it down some. If you want quiet this aint it. I am curious to get on the highway and listen for some drone. Dont know yet.

If I want quiet Ill get the Mercedes now.

rjcracing.com (not.net) has clips of both exhausts.

I have also have the 4 inch in my car and it was very loud at idle and during street driving, i added a 4 in bullet where the cutout goes and it quiet it down some but not by much, I'll just live with it.:D

Well drove it around after putting up another hanger and resetting the others.

Pretty happy with the fit. Its tight and well set. I had to put 2 hangers at the Dump flange to keep the DP centered between the headers and frame. There s little or now movement and with all the tight clearances its important to not half ass the job.

It does drone a little when lugging 45-50 mph but there is no drone at steady speed at any mph. Its sounds great everywhere else. I like it more every time I crank it. There is no way Id try to put a different or other muff on it. I like it alot especially the idle. I got it because I wanted it to be louder and look baddass without killing me and thats what I got. The 4" looks pretty serious.

People say it sounds like a race car finally. Its hard to say if the exhaust did anything because I went to a RJC boost controller(must have) and external WG 3" GN1 DP with the exhaust. I did port the exhaust side of the turbo (pte52) up to 1" to match the gn1 DP. I had no boost creep before but I wanted to make sure I took full advantage of the larger WG opening in the GN1 DP.

I took the turbotweak back to zero on everything ( I was leaner and more timing) because I thought it might lean out some. Its back where it was with the stock exhaust around 23psi and no knock and 800-830 on scanmaster.

I took a few pics and a video link after the pics below.

Mario ,thanks for the pictures and info. It may be too loud for me (im 64) and I want my wife to want to ride in the car.I don't know whats on my car but the drone sucks and I have to change it. Might try the duals. Nice wheels what are they ? Just ordered the "Budnick" Grand Nat'l replica's . What do you have for headers , I need to change headers as well as exhaust system. Thanks again, Jim maguire

Hey Jim they are CCW classics 17x10 on all four. Id probably 17x10 and 17x9.

My wife will ride with me I have had some pretty loud cars since I was 18 and she rode then. Its not bad unless your lugging a gear around 2k RPM. I like it more and more.

My headers are Hookers and most people hate them but I get all the boost I want anytime I want it. I blow the tires at 2 psi and I can get 5 psi in a few secs at launch. IF I nail it from 19 mph it blow the drag radials in first no problem. Some times I have to get back out of it. It feels very peppy and efficient now. Stock un opened engine just bolt ons.

I wouldnt change the headers unless they're leaking and driving you crazy. They flow fine and might help to not be too loud later.

Its very loud! Not the greatest street exhaust.

A dual 3 inch would be a better choice imo. Wasnt all that happy with the drone either at 30-40 mph. Maybe with a different muffler it might sound better. Great flowing but so are duals.

Brett, your a follower of Otto! I see you have his logo. I've known him for years, my two sons have done some racing with him and now at 64 I got the bug. One of my kids has a 2010 SS Camaro running in the 10s and after scaring the **** out of myself driving that I got the GN obsession. Thanks for the info on the 4 " sounds too loud for me. I'd like to try 4 " with the 3" muffler. What do you like for headers. Maybe I'll see you at Otto's when it gets warmer and he doesn't need heat or at the track. Thanks for the info, Jim Maguire

Forgot to mention this exhaust is extremely light. It probably weighed a 1/4 of the dual 2.5 aluminized exhaust I took off.

A dual 3" might weigh near double this one.

I have the same exhaust and I went to get inspection for the car and the guy sent me home cuz he think I have no exhaust in my car LOL

figures.. i cant get the audio to work on my freaken laptop.

i went with the dynomax drone crap and now the valve thing is rattling big-time. so before i put the old ultradrone flo back on i want to hear urs

looks very nice though

I love those rims. Here is a pic that I took at the Buick car show in Orlando a few weeks ago. Is this your car?
