I just got the one for stock plenums and my question is should I drill out the plate to retain the EGR function? What are the pro's and con's of not running the EGR. If the EGR should be used, then why doesn't the plate come predrilled?

Sorry if these questions sound lame, but I really would like to know....TIA

It's a matter of what chip your running.
Some are designed to run with EGR, and if you simply block off the EGR you'll wind up with too much timing in cruise mode, where your engine spends most of it's life.

If you're not going to make a chip change then drill it.

Will it work undrilled?, kinda, will it be correct that way? No.

try searching under"power plate",you would not believe all the debating that has been done on the subject.I have one in my car and I took it back out drilled the egr hole and put it back in .Did not see any difference with the hole drilled. But really search the forums there will be enough reading to keep you busy for a while;)

Do it. You need the EGR for combustion chamber cooling and you probably wont pass emmissions. Your NOX will be too high. There is no performance loss or gain by drilling the hole.

Got my drill bit ready!!!

Thanks guys....I will drill it and forget it! ;)
