anyone got any feedback on this ?...I ran my gn thursday night...and to tell the truth...my car fell on its face!...i'm not blaming the "plate"..i just want to know how the HI boost 26-32 psi guys cars responded after the install of the plate???....thanx joe:confused:

If you haven't seen the video just ask Jason. I think he did something like 9.96@130MPH with 27 PSI. Didn't look flat to me, rather wheels up on the launch:D Hope you get your problems fixed.

Hi Joe,

I'd check the simple stuff first, Vacuum leak No.1, could you have disturbed the vacuum block? No.2, Did you get a good seal on the plate when you installed it? Double check your work and make sure. Then do a search for Power Plate on this board and check out some of the other folks who have had similar problems, most have been solved with sealing up a vacuum leak. But, whatever you do don't say something like" Gee, my car doesn't seem to run any better with the plate in it". You might as well be calling the Pope an athiest, (even though there are a dozen guys on this board who didn't find any benefit to the plate at all). There scared to say so anymore. - :p

Simple enough. Do like BB says and if doesn't cure it take the plate out and see how it feels. Luckily it isn't like pulling teeth:)

Yup,exactly and I'm not Catholic.:D

Well, in my greed to quench the need for speed, I turned up the wick on my WE4 rather quickly (see combo below). I was up to 28 psi and in back road testing it felt great! However, I popped the head gasket on cylinder #5 during my second run the following day at the dragstrip. Yes, this was with 93 octane and alky, and I wasn't as diligent in my tuning as I should have been... there was a little bit of KR and that was all it took! It was my personal lack of delayed gratification that caused this to occur and I am in no way blaming the Power Plate as it works well in both my WE4 and GN. They seem to have eliminated my "transitional knock" that is associated with alky use. FWIW, I had been running around with 25 psi or so till I decided to really light the fire for track use. For daily use in my GN I am at about 23 psi and it works fine. Planning on getting one for my T-Type when it finally gets on the road.

hey jay, what timing are you running with alky?

i agree on the "plate " helping..it worked great on my wifes we4..with 93 @17 psi....On my GN.. I had a header or x over crack or blow out on the track visit...i'll know when i get it in the garage...i guess it was one of those chitty track visits... we all hate to have! joe

WFO... I wish I knew! I was running a Z93 chip from Gary Mitchell (Black Car) in the WE4 and I think it's about 2* over stock? I should have played around more, though, because with the Thrasher 108 (don't know the timing of it either, sorry!) in my GN at 23 psi or so feels almost as good as the WE4 did at the much higher boost! Fair comparison, 'cause they actually have pretty similar combos now. When the head gaskets are fixed in the WE4, I'm gonna play around with timing and fueling and not jump right up to high boost looking for power as I did that time!

welp...after getting the gn up on jack stands...and looking around on the pass side of the motor...i found the problem!...#4 cyl has a nice chunk of headgasket blown out...not the header leak i was hoping for...ohh well the motor has headstuds...so i'm pull'n her out...i cant complain it had 34,000+ miles and hundreds of 1/8 mile passes...time to upgrade to a 206 billet roller maybe!..see ya at bristol...he!! ya i'm gunna drive it there! joe

Not to wander too far off topic, but...

Hey guys,

I'd like to know where you guys got your Powerplates from and how much did you pay.
I tried e-mailing Jason from the addy given on his website, but it was returned as *non-deliverable*.
I'd like to order it from the source, but how do I get ahold of Jason in order to get one? Can you pay with Paypal or credit card when you order through Jason? I'd like to call him, but the time difference is a killer.
I know this is a pretty silly question, but any help would be appreciated. Also, who else besides Jason carries the Powerplate?
TIA!

Steve

jason just went out on his own..he was working for someone else and is in process of running his own business..

you should be able to call the # on his site and talk with him.

Hate to hear about the head gasket Joe. I took your advice and took my heads to Ed, great guy. He told me I would have to run roller rockers and check each pushrod for proper length or put new seats in to correct the problem. I am going with the roller rockers. Are you running at Mooresville on Thursdays?

Better that it's a gasket and not internal parts!;)

I have not had a chance to test one myself, but I am looking forward to it big time! Jason's car was flying! We have one on the test car for mid 10's at med-high boost, but have to fix head gaskets (go figure) before we can test.

We are setup to carry all of Jason's parts, including the Power Plates, but don't have any in stock right now. I plan to get a bunch of things from him, including different style plates. Please let me know soon if anyone wants a certain style plate, and I will get them on the way. They are $59 for any style, and I may do something like free shipping on them to get the word out & help you all ('yall) :) Don't see a down side on the street or track so far.

Thanks-
