Anybody know the freeze point of distilled water and RMI-25? It's not on the bottle and I can't find anything on the net. I read that it's supposed to lower the freeze point of water, but there are no specific numbers out there.

I just talked to the owner of the company and he says that pacecarta is correct. It nominally changes the freezing point since it isn't alcohol based. So just figure 32 deg F.

to clarify its latex based which is water based and you are adding 4 ounces to 2-3 gallons of water, at 2 gallons thats 64:1 mix of water to additive (1.7% ) so even if it was antifreeze it wouldnt affect it much at all as antifreeze would be mixed 50-70% for winter use

Never froze in my garage, a couple of days it got below 32.

I figured as much. Thanks for the responses. I thought I'd ask before I go back to the 50/50 antifreeze for the winter. It's just now starting to get a little frosty in the mornings here in the South.

Depending on how far south you are, you hardly ever have to go a full 50/50. I'm in GA and the most I ever go is 20%.

I run straight water with rmi-25 in the summer, and for the winter I drain the radiator, and fill it back up with straight anti freeze, then run it with the heat on, and until the t-stat opens. Usually tests around -20° F for freeze point.

as far as antifreeze
25% would be good only to 10 degreesF
33% good to 0F
40% good to -12
50% good to -34
60% good to -62

summers i run water RMI , for winters here in north east i drain the rad and the pump (take out lower long bolt at passenger side of waterpump) and pour in at least 1 gallon of straight antifreeze and then top of with water
and then you would need to run the car to temp with heater on to mix the water in the block and the heater core

I just checked mine yesterday. Straight distilled water, Leak Dye and RMI-25. Freeze Point 31.5 F

Thanks. I'm in Augusta GA. I'll go with a 20% mix since the lowest temp I've seen is the mid-teens.
