rockford fos.... in dash

I have an 87 GN with the concert 2 sounds system and i put in rockford's in the dash and now that dash piece doesnt want to go down all the way they stick up to much. Any ideas? When i bought them they were the recomended ones. any suggestions?

The tweeters are probably sticking up too high beyond the basket. You can try to bend the tabs on the side up (pushes basket down) to give you more room. Other than that, there really isn't much you can do, unless you are good at custom fabbing (fabrication).

Rockford's tweeters stick way too out for our cars, go with the Eclipse 3.5" coax should fit in there. I don't think bending the tabs will drop the speaker more in because the hole on the dash is cut for a 3.5" speaker. Can you return it?
