Rod Ramsey passed away on July 14, 2013. He is survived by his wife, Jan, their four children and seven grandchildren. Rod served honorably in the U.S.A.F. where he met his wife. They moved to San Diego, Ca. in 1974 where he worked as a Sr. Data Analyst for San Diego Data Processing. Rod can best be described as a gentle man, an unassuming and kind person. Heck, sometimes we were unaware that he was present in the many car shows presented by Steve Hurst @ Bates Nut Farm, Valley Center. Yes, he took pride in showing his car and at times felt uncomfortable about winning his class. I think it came to pass that Lou showed up in his GNX and took First Place, Rod Second Place and, yes, he was relieved that he lost.

Memorial Service: Friday, August 2 @ 10:00 AM in St David Episcopal Church, 5050 Milton St, San Diego
Reception: Following the service in the Mission Hall
Interment: Fort Rosecrans at 1:00 PM

I spoke to him many times, (at Bates) we kidded each other about winning.
RIP Mr Ramsey.

Pat, thanks for posting this & my condolences to his family.

God Bless & God Speed, I will keep his family in my prayers.

Pat,

I'm really sorry to hear this, Rod was a very nice guy. He was always easy going, soft spoken and thoughtful. I chatted with him briefly at the car show earlier, I didn't know it would be the last time I saw him. :(

My condolences to his family.

Neal

A very nice guy. He will be missed. Here's a blurry picture taken of him at this last Bates show.

So sorry to hear, met him for the first time at the recent Bates show. He made me feel like we were friends for years.

Is the family ok (financially? should we set up a fund?)? Any meet to honor him or place to donate in his name? RIP, didn't know him but if he had a GNX he took care of and served our country that it enough to know he should be missed...

Spoke with Rod many times on the phone and exchanged numerous emails. Indeed a kind spirit and gentle person that always left a good vibe behind.

Blue Skies Rod, and god speed.

Looking forward to seeing you at all the shows to come.

My sincerest condolences to your family and those you left behind.
