Picked up my car Friday from Randy at The Racecar Factory in Stuart Fl. Cal Hartline made the arangements for me to bring the car down there. And as usual Cals advise paid off. Randy got the car done in two days. Did a good, clean installation and charged me a fair price. Thanks to Randy at The Racecar Factory, Cal for steering me to him and Louie Lopez for trying to help me get the car to and from, and to my buddy Jeff for making the trip with me not once but twice.. It was a long ride from Daytona to Stuart but would do it again knowing the work would be worth it.. Thanks again to all... Don and Irela

i would like to know how much that cost if you dont mind me asking. I need to get a roll cage before i get kicked off of the track.

The price I was given for my bar was part of a three car deal so what I paid wouldn't be accurate. As I was shopping around in this area I got prices all around $1100 to $1300 (add about $400 if you want chrome-moly) I didn't think the weight savings of 10lbs was worth $400...

How big are your tubes? I thought they were moly from the size.

for the record, Moly is 37% lighter thean mild steel...it would have added up to alot more than 10 lbs.

Cage looks good!

The tubing size is 1 3/4" which is the same on mild steel tubing or chrome moly, the weight savings comes from the fact that the moly is .083 wall thickness and the mild steel is .118. And yeah I guess at 37% lighter the moly would have saved me 26.6 lbs (the mild steel bar added 72 lbs to car) still not worth $300 to $400 more for the moly. I could see it on a full cage, but for me I spent that money on a set of 72lbs injectors... between the new injectors and the PT67GTQ turbo I have on order I will more than make up for those extra pounds.

Don ,
I like that. The new combo will certainly make up for the weight gain. The bar looks great.

On another note even if the weight gain is 50 lbs, its not worth the extra 500.00 required for the chrome moly.
