I am looking to stop the annoying ticking/crappy sound out of my rockers.

They make noise even though they are tite with preload.

I was thinking of going to roller rockers, to help stop the clicking and run smoother at idle? This is on a 109 block.

What ratio is the stock rockers. I am running the 206 cam so I think I want to go to a 1.60 rocker ratio for more power?

Do I need taller valve covers? How much is this all gonna cost? TA performacne the best place to buy them?

Is there another way to stop the ticking up front?

thanks,
JP

If you plan on buying TA Harland Sharp you have to clearance them to clear the pedastals if your using the stock iron head. If your planning on doing that with the heads still on the block and in the car it can be done but its time consuming. Running the stock style shafts and converting over to 1.6" Harland Sharps I saw very little gains from a seat of the pants difference. Did not quiet down the motor any but I did not upgrade for that reason. If your looking for a performance gain look elsewhere from a $$$ standpoint. Just my .02..
Also you do need spacers for stock valve covers and/or tall valve covers that are aftermarket from Champion, TA etc..

My 455 ticks crazy as well. Is there a way to stop the famous buick tick at low idle?

What ratio's are guys using?

If you already have properly adjusted rockers then going to roller rockers will not help either. Solid lifters CAN be quiet. And no, you don't have to adjust them every week/month like some people claim.
