I know this topic was talked about before, But im trying to figure out how much it would be to put a solid roof on my car? I would like to take the car to Gbodyparts but i have no idea how to get the over there. i live in NY. I would use a body shop in my are but i dont realy trust them. any body have any ideas thanks every body

Just replace all the T Top crap with the SS stuff that Brian sells and youll never have to worry about it again, thats what I did.Found rust in the front drivers section and was gonna lop the roof off and put on a hard top, instead I went with the stuff Brian sells and am very happy.

I supplied my body/paint man with a solid roof i got from Brian, and he charged $400 labor to remove and install the new roof. Not sure on how much more it was to paint it because it was part of a full re-paint ,paid by State Farm Insurance.

We do not install the hard top roof. Either find a body shop in your area or you could use S&G next to us. Thay are currentlly stripping, repainting & installing stainless T-top parts.Sam has about 35 + years of experience.

Kurt used JT's which is also another excellent shop that can do the same work. They have a website:
http://www.jtscollision.com/

John is currentlly restoring a we-4 & worked at GM.

Drew glad you got everything taken care of.

Kurt I'll probablly see you next weekend for the headliner & interior parts.Got your message.

hi, every body( roof replacement)

I brought my car to the body shop. The guy gave me some bad news. I just want to see if its true or not
he said that my car's body is to rotted to work on? He pointed at where the door hindges attach and there where some cracks and rust. he said he wanted to replace the "cowl"(the fire wall and wind shield down) he wanted 5000dollars to do it. he also said that it rusted so much that its starting to collapse

does this sound about right?
thanks every body

Unfortunately, yes.

Good news is, a good rolling chassis is usually around 2500.

I have a Regal here with 50k on it. I'd sell everything from the steel body for $1700 if you were interested, its hardtop, would include doors, trunk, fenders, flat hood, etc. You could buy it and drop it right onto your frame and swap your interior back in after..... having better sheetmetal to boot

sorry,too late

i bought a donor about two weeks ago its a bule limited with a V8 all the stuff from my rotted t-type car are going into the limited. I am how ever sorry i wasted Jtcolisions and Bweavys time they where very help full its just the car is so rusted you can poke your Finger through fire wall where door hinges bolt in. again i apolligize for wasting Beweavys and Jtcollisions time
thanks every body

That was probablly the smartest thing yopu could have done if the rust was that bad.No time wasted another GN is being saved!

the saga continues

hi every body< does any body know about landua roofs? Its just a fiberglass cap with vinly wrapped around it, or it some thing more intense to take off
thanks

They are the same metal roof. You will have to pop rivot the trim retainers on the back for your 3 piece rear window molding. Then you have to grind the rivots that hold the 4 pieces of trim along the middle.

Strip it first to make sure there isn't any rust.

Where in NY? I have a Pickup and would be willing to pick this up from brian for you? I wanted to get some 8.5" rims from him and something he had chromed.

i have the rear window molding from the other car so i guess i would use that. Is this very labor intesive. if not i'll just keep the roof on there. Although im going need some need vinyl on the roof its a little faded. Also some one mentioned that i might have a problem with opera windows

thanks everybody

Oprea windows will need to be swapped out yours are chrome on the regal. They are different from a hard top & vinyl roof.

Mike if you want 8.5" let me know. I'm only building them upon requests. They take about 2 weeks.

Shop is impressed by donor

hi every body the shop i am using doesn't realy want to use the donor i have. So i am toying with idea of buying a roller turbo buick. Id imagine Gbody parts might have one. As far as towing the roller to the shop buying the roller and paying to have the roller painted. wouldn't it just be easier to have Donor i have and do every thing to that.
The donor i have is regal limited with landua Roof (heavly padded)
I figure one way or another its going to cost me
the other idea is to go to my chevy dealer ship and buy and make payments on a anemic 04 little cavailer
any help with greatly appreciated
thanks every body
