How much would it cost to buy a roof, or to replace a roof off of a GN or Regal?

I'm wondering because of the possibilty of buying a car with a roof that needs dire replacement.

Someone want to help me out? Just to give me an estimate or a ballpark figure?

Also.. Is it possible to do this by yourself without too much time being put into it?

whats wrong with it? is it dented to all hell or rusted? To just chopsaw a roof clear off, and try to re-align another one would be dam near impossible. Too much to have to get right. I can see windows not fitting, trim not fitting, etc etc..

try doing a search, many g.n.'s have had rusty t-top roofs replaced. i have done this on a different car before, it takes a lot of time and careful measurments!

It's got a line going across the front end near the windshield. And another at the driver's door right above the door.

What should I do?

Unless you are REALLY good with body work I would not attempt it. However, a bodyshop can handle such things, no problem. Go get a quote and you'll be miles ahead. ;)

Well, as in the other thread that I revived about T-Top repair, couldn't somebody just cut away my roof and weld in the T-Top?

I had a vinyl top car that had rust holes under the vinyl. One of my shops quoted me $500 just for the labor. And I had to do all of the hard work. Remove the glass and weatherstriping along with the interior and find my own sheetmetal in the boneyard. No paint included. I figured I would have had at least $1200 wrapped up in just replacing the roof panel with out any paint.
