Is there an advantage or disadvantage for a street driven car using diamond slotted/cross-drilled rotors vs. just crossed-drilled and slotted?

TIA

That stuff is just for looks. The cross drilled actually weaken the rotor enough that I wouldnt use them on a road course, they crack more easily. Most people who drive hard on courses actually stick with good sets of blanks, or slotted at the most. Good air Ducting for cooling will get you further than the drilled/slotted.

Interesting...... I know a guy with a TTA that got a stopping length reduction of 27 feet using these rotors and new pads.
Not sure how scientific the test was, but it's a pretty simple thing to do.

You bring up a point though. At $225 +- a pair, they aren't like trying spark plugs!

Hehe... I'll bet its the pads. They can have a huge impact on stopping distance. The reason for drilling or slotting is just to remove the gas buildup from repeated heavy braking. (racing)
