http://www.infowars.com/dhs-to-purchase-another-750-million-rounds-of-ammo/

By my and others count, that makes 1.4 BILLION rounds of assorted ammo ordered by DHS since last year. I only have one question.
WHY? Training? Really?

Take a look at the pdf in the link. Very eye opening.
I don't think even hickock45 could go through that much ammo.
Just thought I'd put this in the Gun forum because it's gun related. But if the Mods want to move it, that's fine with me. I'm just spreading the word.
Keep your eyes and ears open.

Happy Tuesday everyone.

That's a little disturbing to me. Looks liek they're ramping up for something that won't be pleasent or constitutional but I hope I'm wrong.

Depending on the training syllabus, that may still be too much. I do quarterly quals and have enough to shoot each course twice if needed. . . fudge factor included in the estimates for ordering (+10%). DHS my be ramping up for manufacturing shortfalls or an increase in hiring/training. Govt incompetence or a knee jerk reaction to something a supervisor ordered is the more probable reason IMO.

Some more thoughts.

I personally have never heard of any agency training with .223 55gr soft point ammo, nor JHP rounds in pistols. I always thought training rounds meant Frangible or FMJ rounds only. But what do I know right?

Things like this really makes me think they are trying to control the ammunition market, by limiting availability and clogging up production.

And then there's this one that just came out today.

National Weather Service? Really?

Walking away shaking my head...

Well make sure you're loaded and prepared when the next election happens. Just hope nothing happens for the masses but I have a feeling it won't be pretty at all.:(

Our local indoor range sells the 55gr soft for target practice.
I have a 1000 rds of FMJ, green tip. They would not allow me to use it.
We found that at 100yds, the FMJ grouped MUCH closer than the 55 soft...
So, I think I'll just load up on the FMJ, even tho it's only 75 yds to my property line!:D

Happy Wednesday everyone.
Man, it just keeps getting better and better.
This time it's 174k rounds of 125 grain bonded JHP .357 Sig rounds for SSA.

Ummm...

WTFrack is this about?

And they call me a paranoid conspiracy theorist.

Goes back to filling sand bags...

357 Sig isn't a government round as a rule. This just looks weird to say the least. For some reason I have a feeling it's intended to drive the price up so less people can afford the ammo or in preperation for something that won't be a good suprise.

Either that, or all of this is another Iran Contra deal, sending stuff to ALciada in Syria.

Figuring most Sig and Glock .40 S&W can be converted to .357 Sig with a simple barrel swap, leads me to believe this is meant for US soil. Especially considering almost every agency issue sidearm is .40 S&W.
Then you throw in the amount of foreign troops that are currently "training" in the US, really sets off my alarm bells.

THANKS!
Hell, I can't even see 300 meters!! Thank god I have a scope on it!:D
This same range has a moron that owns it. I was there 1 day, and he had his 50cal Barrett out. They ended up shooting it inside! Damn near blew the windows out, set off car alarms, and had the local cops asking WTF??? All this and the range is near downtown Monroe, GA.
I quit going there when some idiot left the range, came into the sales area with his pistol loaded. He handed it to another moron, who promptly shot some guy...................

Back under my rock!:)

LMAO! I can't believe that someone is that stupid but I can see it happening.

"Training?"

Have you by chance observed any of the foreign troops here in civilian guise, just "observing"? The Russian's are blatantly obvious.

I do think that there's an attempt to run up prices by ordering all this oddball stuff. Price the average person out of the game while they continue the engineered collapse path. I'm wondering just how strong the Congressional resistance has been to the UN gun ban, and if that's some of the reasoning behind cornering the ammo market. We've suffered ammo price spikes and shortages in particular calibers throughout this admin. Maybe this is an all out assault on availability at any price. Of course that kick's in the hording mentality, which again bring's renewed corporate profit's. Considerring who's been buying up the manufacturing base, it could well just be another case of corporate welfare.

What I'm saying is that while this may affect newcomer's to the hobby, the average hobbyist shooter or even previous panic buyer is moer than likely already
equipped with more than they'll ever need in the next couple years of range shooting. At some point, this admins actions will come home to roost, and all will see. Hopefully we will not feel.

riiiight, that's the way it's gonna go....
