Rubber piece behind bumper?

There's some silver rubber piece between the rear of my front bumper and my grille that's warped and is now visible while looking down on the bumper. I could paint it black to hide it a bit, but I'd rather replace it...what the heck IS it?

Are you talking about the gray plastic filler panel? p/n 12336186. Still available from GM, about 16 bucks. Go to http://www.partszoneonline.com/ and take a look. Should be what you want. Push the grille back to get to the 4 screws that hold it in.

Excellent...that's the one! How far can I push the grille back without damaging it? Should I just remove the grille? I wonder if I should buy TWO of those things..price is right.

Just remove the 2 springs for the grill which will make it easier to push out of the way...
