Hey has anyone had a problem with the running lights in the rear not working but the brake lights working? My front running lights are all working. I check the fuses (wont make sense, seeing how the front ones work) I had just a small amount of time to look at things this morning I check the connection in the trunk and it seemed fine. Where should I go now? Thanks

I think someone has spliced into the brown wire next to the fuse panel for a alarm system. The wiring harness from the fuse panel is aluminum and when someone puts a splice in the wire it wont hold up very long.I have seen this on two cars.

muzz might be on to sumthing.. i too have this same problem al lights are good even brakes but i have no rears they just recently went out
plus my car used to have an alarm system..
so thats where the problem might be
ill check in a bit and reply if it worked

I had this problem also, someone had a 10a fuse in where a 20a needed to be.
now I have running lights but no brake lights. and a connector in the trunk that seems to go to nothing.

Sorry I have not gotten to write back, I have not been able to look at any of it due to work but I will be looking at this afternoon and reporting what I find. Also when I turn on my parking lights or headlights both my turn signal indicators on the dash glow dimmly the whole time....?

Thanks Muzz it was the brown wire close to the fuse box. And that wire is really crappy. it was like wire soder really flimsy and easy to break, how many more wires are like this?

Glad you found it.That set of wires coming off of the fuse box to the rear of the car are the only ones I know of.I am not sure why gm did it that way other than maybe saving some money.
