For What Its Worth: This time in the quarter mile is right in the middle of the high and low "reports" in performance magazines of the day (1989) and is probably typical for an all original "stock" TTA, "With the factory air still in the tires", Russ said ;)

Russ Salerno bought my car with 19 miles on the odometer in 1995, and enjoyed the car to its fullest. He reports that, in entirely stock form, the car ran a best of 13.6 in the quater mile.

He went on to report that with a stealth AFPR, Ta-49, test pipe (for the track), 160 degree thermostat, throttle body bypass plugs, voltage booster, Xp fuel pump, K&N air filter, Ultra flow muffler, engine tie down strap, and Thrasher, the car did 12.4 @ 109....

See Russ's web site here

Yeah I belive thats pretty typical for a stocker.

My #850 bone stock 59K miles went:
60' ..... 2.102
330' ..... 5.763
1/8 ..... 8.807@80.48mph
1000' ..... 11.449
1/4 ..... 13.682@100.78

My almost stock hardtop #884 went 13.372@104.11 on a 1.943 60ft - only mod it has at the moment is 2.77 gears done by the original owner.

Back in 1991 on a 100 degree summer day here in CA my car ran the following bone stock with about 500 miles on it:

60'........ 2.032
330'.......5.635
1/8........ 8.665 @ 82.055
1000'.... 11.293
1/4........ 13.530 @ 102.769

My friend (who then owned the car) managed to click off a best of 13.322 @ 104.68 in totally stock form later that night after it cooled down a lot. Unfortunately that timeslip doesn't list any incrementals.

My totally stock TTA w/9k on the clock went a consistant 13.8x with the only thing not stock was the tires, but were street BFG Z-rated tires. I removed the cat and replaced it with a straight pipe, and it runs a consistant 13.6x's now.

13.30's @ 103 back in 89 with a brand new car ...600 miles...today the car has 623 miles...it was also hotter than 9 hell that day...guy sat in the staging lanes with the AC on !!! ahhhh the good ol days :D

Hmm, only 23 passes in the last 14 years? 1/4 down track, 1/4 to slow down and turn around, and 1/2 mile back to starting line :D
Some of the mags had indicated 13.3x's times stock back then, you got a lucky one.

Is that car in Massachusetts? I always meet people who know of someone with a TTA around the state but I never see them anywhere. With 623 miles I would not expect to see this one on the road but I am still curious.

there are a lot of TTA's in hiding up here.. this car hasn't been on the road since that day at the drags.

Mine bone stock car ran a 1/8 on 9.09 and 82.47 mph with the only aftermarket street tires.

In Sweden we run high mphs but bad et:s lol. I begin to wonder if usa and sweden clock the times on different ways.

My best times so far is 8.39 1/8 and 12.87 on some 110 mph pass... Has done 112 mph but on a 13.27 Et and 2.44 60 foot...
Trasher 108, race gas and cat pipe + 20.5 psi boost.

Daniel
